Default Need home with acreage...

We will probably be moving to the Baltimore area soon, and we have five dogs (greyhounds & whippets) that need space to romp. I can see from doing on-line home searches that we'd probably have to live pretty far out to find a home on a couple of acres that would accommodate our dogs. The commute will be to Linthicum Heights. Can anyone recommend a suitable area for us to begin our home search? We're wondering if we need to be west of Baltimore? Any ideas on rush hour traffic living in that direction? Thank you for any advice!

Totally do-able, here's a list of 45 properties within 7 miles of Linthicum Heights that have acreage, they range from under $300k to multi millions, but it's all within 7 miles of your work destination. I've got a whippet mix myself, so I know how much running space they need to be happy!

Default Thank you!

Thank you very much for sending all those listings!! I can see we have a lot to pick from. One thing that I can see already is that the cost of housing in your area is a lot more expensive than here in the Pittsburgh area! WOW. I see some properties that cost upwards of $700K that would sell for about $400K here! Why is everything so high there?

Thank you.

That's just the way the market is. Cities on the coast generally have higher property values than inland cities.

Check Ellicott City or Jessup. They're nearby to Linthicum and you can get houses with land. Most of them won't be cheap, but if you look hard enough you'll find one that works.

The closer you live to Linthicum, the better off you are. Most of the high-speed expressways in the area turn into parking lots during rush hour. the south & west portions of I-695 from I-70 to I-97 is especially jammed during the weekdays: morning rush, then from about 2:30pm 'till late, around 8-9pm.

The state is planning to add, or adding, lanes in stages along the highway. It'll take years to finish.
