Default Silver springs and college park?

I have a friend who lives near Annapolis and is within 30 minutes to Baltimore and D.C.

I was looking into moving to Florida but hear there are massive job issues there and no quality schools in the cities which are where the massive job issues are (you can go down to florida for peak season and do well working in service industry in the beach communities if you bartend/serve ect)

Anyways he wants me to be his roomate and says there are nice schools. I am hesitant for a few reasons. One is that I like nightlife and fun (im single). Baltimore doesn't strike me as a very safe place. I hear college park and silver springs are great places with a good night life scene for people to hang.

So how does silver springs, college park, Baltimore and other places close to this area compare with the Florida night life scene or the Boston night life scene? Is it a good place for single white dudes in their upper 20's??
