Default South Charles Village 25th st?

I currently live in northern part of Mt Vernon, but have to move to help a friend. We havent had a whole lot of time to look at places, but we narrowed it down to two places.

34th st and chestnut in Hampden and 25-26 block of guilford.

The ups to Hampden is that it seems to be a nicer neighborhood with more to do, but a big concern was that the house had no parking and it looks like parking would be a huge hassel. Not only that, but we have a 3 people living in one house situation and while one bedroom was decent size the other two were pretty small. Aside from parking and it ebing a little cramped though it wasnt too bad.

The guilford house was much larger and had much larger rooms with a lot more charm I guess you would call it and had two parking space with a backyard from a alley in the rear. The big concern with this place is crime and being able to walk to stuff at night.

The crime issue is a somewhat big deal because we like to have get togethers and parties on occasion and it seems like the guilford house would have ample room for that, but would people feel comfortable coming out there. My friends and I have both lived in relatively not so great areas before and been fine, but people have led me to believe that the area is worse then where my friends live now in north highland town. We are leaning towards guilford mainly because of the space and parking, is it that crazy there at night though?

The 2500 block of Guilford is actually quite nice. I have friends on that block who love it but they do say they don't walk at night around there.

Stay north of 25th St on Guilford. South of that you're in Barclay, a BGF stronghold. North of it you should be ok if you're on the west side of the street. The east side of the street, you're in Harwood, which ain't great either. North of 29th St, both sides of Guilford are ok. The East of it being the affluent Abell area and the West of it being Charles Village.
