Hello Maryland'ers:

I am considering a job in Annapolis Junction. I will be using Craigslist
to get a feel for condo rentals. What area would you recommend for
me to look given my needs:

New upscale 2BR condos, a singles area (30s), within 35 min commute to
Annapolis Junction. Price range is $2000 to 2300 per month. Hopefully
with a garage or secure underground parking.

Thanks for your advice..

Default Up to you

If you check the map, you will realize that Annapolis Junction has nothing to do with Annapolis, except that it once was a junction for trains going to the state capital. The nearest concentration of condos is probably in Odenton, which should offer alternatives galore. Whether living among lots of military families (the MARC train from D.C. fairly empties in Odenton as people below the rank of major, uniformed or not, exit) appeals to you is up to you.
Go and see. I myself would probably consider Linthicum, which is not that far from Annapolis Junction. More established, nice small-town feeling in parts. Easy access to Baltimore/Washington. Near BWI but less aircraft noise than in Columbia.

Default To the OP

Try reposting the question on the Maryland board, because it is suburban.
