How about aggressive driving, snobiness, elitism?? In New York people don't even bother to say excuse me, they just shove you out of the way. Nobody ever talks to a stranger on the street. Nobody even knows to smile because ya'll are too busy to find nice to be nice or to help each other.

Also New YOrkers and northerners in general feel they are superior to everyone else in the country, especially those who are from rural areas or who are from the South and Midwest.

No Virginia is a lot better than Maryland. Their state government is a lot more effective. Maryland is so liberal that we will allow ourselves to be controlled by the illegals. We are now giving illegals in-state tuition in college....ain't that ridiculous? No measure curbing illegal immigration will ever pass in Maryland.

Martin O'Malley is a radical left-wing nut job so are both of our Senators. Unless you are an illegal alien or an ultra-rich snobby, liberal you will be made to feel unwelcome anywhere in Montgomery County, Baltimore City, or PG County. People elsewhere in the state don't have a voice since Baltimore and Montgomery/PG dominate the politics here. Also Maryland has VERY strict gun ownership laws which contributes to the high crime. For every tragedy like Virginia Tech, there are dozens of times when people use their own guns to stop criminals from victimizing them. Good luck living in Baltimore or PG County without owning a loaded gun with the safety off.

I think Northern Virginia and up is snotty. Yesterday I told a couple that their brake lights were out on their trailer they were hauling their boat with and they just snubbed me off...well fu then..when someone rear ends u or you get pulled over don't say i didn't warn you..grrrrrrrrrrr.....Maryland suks!!! When I went to California and all the places Ive been in the south everyone was nice and laid back. Actually the sad part is when I was in New York I didn't have an issue with anyone I passed on the street that bumped into me. I did get an excuse me or an im sorry and a thank you when i held the door open. The other weekend my hubby and I held the door open for these two woman and nothing out of their mouth...at least a fu would have been a response..lol...

I currently live in Maryland and am seeking somewhere to relocate. The only problem I have with this area is the social scene... One minute you are chatting with someone and think maybe you have an associate... that same person will look at you the next day and act as though they don't know you. I've been here for seven years and I've talked to several people from out of state...they have all noticed the same pattern... I like meeting and talking to people who are consistant and in this area that does not exist!

This community is truly a very family oriented planned community with mix of single family townhomes, and condos. There is also plenty there for the kids to do. It has a community swimming pool with swimming leagues for kids, tennis courts, baseball and basketball leagues and more.

Other affordable and diverse communities around APG are Aberdeen, Havre de Grace and Joppatown.

Good Luck
Beware of the horrendous gang activity in Edgewood tho! I lived in Joppatown and the grocery store up the street was in Edgewood and I would not go there after dark.

[quote=vermont08;901401I do not know of many states where it is common place for kids to be bringing loaded guns to school. I don't just mean high school I am talking about kids as young as 4th grade.[/QUOTE]

Perhaps you should take a look at this report http://www.ed.gov/about/reports/annu...sa03-04rpt.pdf

and then get back to me on elementary school children bringing fierearms to school. As you can see, Maryland is certainly not leading the way at any school level as far as number of incidents, granted this report is dealing with 03 - 04, but still. I'm not suggesting that Maryland or even Baltimore doesn't have violence, but it really should be taken in perspective, and shouldn't be looked at so one dimensionally.

I don't know..but when is everyone going to open their eyes and see..yeah compare this state to others like New York and such, but look..this state is SMALL....and all these people crammed in here...i mean children have to go to school in trailers because of the overcrowding issues....it's ridiculous...
