He's had two strokes since arriving in Maine, the most recent about a month ago. Work was hard to find before the strokes so imagine looking for a job with his physical difficulties and without a car.

Compassion should be the word of the day.

I sure wish him well. I can't imagine having to post in a forum to get help or advice in a desperate time. I bet he is looking for solutions. A bad string of luck could happen to any one of us.

I would suggest to the op to have a little more patience and work within the system that you are already in. The grass isn't always greener. Better quality maybe, but not greener.

State law requires hospitals to provide medically necessary treatment even if the person cannot pay and has no insurance. Socialized medicine is here.

Very sorry you're experiencing these troubles...
Look at it this way... Summer months ahead. Get some help and plan a change for yourself in the coming months...

You should probably contact 1-888-568-1112 That's tri county mh services and let them know of your health concerns, the strokes, or whatever is dogging you... because it's going to cause you great stress, and you're likely to become very depressed (you mention suicide) please don't "go there".... please. There is help, just not likely to come from strangers on a forum like this, if they don't understand what you are up against....

Get help from those who can help...

Advice please. I am serious.
It reads to me that you have more pressing problems than moving. Wherever you go, you will still have the same problems. You will just be in a different place.

Please contact the authorities. There are plenty of places to get help.

If you are having suicidal thoughts call the crisis hot line found in the phone book.
