I'm considering a move to Lincoln which is 45 miles north of Bangor. If I move to Lincoln and cannot find employment in the Lincoln area what kind of employment picture will I be looking at in Bangor?

Some of the positions I am qualified for include Customer Service Call Center, Light Industrial, Restaurant and Retail.

Thanks for your input!

Your opportunities would occur in this order:

Customer Service Call Center
Restaurant and Retail
Light Industrial

There is a call center in Orono, just off the interstate and behind the Black Bear Inn.
There is very little light industrial in central Maine.

They have a casino in Bangor? Must be new. Unfortunately they rarely spin off ancillary businesses.

Pawn shops come to mind.

The Hollywood slots in Bangor supposedly spun off $20MM in business in the area last year.

Only time will tell, however, if that will remain inside the casino, now that they built the megaplex downtown. Don't forget that they were in temporary digs in Millers.

It was built to benefit a dying race horse industry.
