Default Gifted Ed. in Orono?

I'm looking into moving to the Orono area and having been checking out the public schools in the area. I have a kindergartener who's just recently been tested, and was found to be gifted. So of course, her education is highly important to us. Any advice or positive experience w/ the gifted programs in that particular area?

Thanks.

I can't answer your question directly, but I would point out that Orono's major "industry" is the flagship campus of the University of Maine and the fact that many of its faculty (and their children) live in Orono serves to stimulate the school system, I suspect. Perhaps an inquiry through the University could derive a more detailed response to your question.

Default homescool

Hi there,

I don't know if this will be an option for you, but wherever you may live, you might want to supplement your daughter's daily schooling with additional homeschool challenges in order to keep your her mentally stimulated. If there isn't a gifted programme in Orono, that might help stave off boredom.
