We can cross the giants off the list after what occured in philly the past two nights. So what NL team has the best chance of going to the postseason this year?
Braves? Padres? Cardinals?
Braves IMO I think can battle the Phils since they have beaten them 8 out of 13 times this year. Padres I'm not sure about or the Cards

Fascinating! So you think that regular season performance has something to do with the playoffs? Evidently, you weren't following the Mets vs. Dodgers during 1988.

After San Francisco's 5-2 win last night...the Giants and Phillies finish the season series at 3-3.
Jonathan Sanchez shuts out the Phillies for 8+ innings on only 2 hits.
Sanchez can come up with a gem once in awhile, but he his after all the Giants #4 starter.
Perhaps the Phillies should be crossed off any playoff list..
The upper eschelon of the NL is pretty jammed together right now. Wherever the post season chips fall, it will be hard to pick winners in the NLDS/NLCS imo. I don't think the talent gap is that large between any of those teams.
Although, if the division winners end up being SD, CIN and ATL, I would like to see our prediction threads bumped, I don't think anyone would have nailed that trifecta.
None...the Phils are heads and shoulders above the rest of the NL, and they typically get even hotter this time of year. The Phils are probably the only NL team that would be a top team even in the AL.
The fact that they're in the wild card lead and in striking distance of 1st place, despite all of the injuries, is proof that the Phils are still the cream of the crop in the NL.

Angels did not lose to the Red Sox during the 2008 season (9-0) but lost 3 out of 4 in the 1st round of the playoffs to them. Head on head matchups is not a very intelligent way to predict who would win playoff matchups.

Why are you so obsessed with the Phillies?
Because I don' want to see them go to a WS three years in a row. I want some NL team to challenge them and force a game 5 or 7

You didn't answer the question. Why are you so obsessed with them? Why does their success bother you so much?
