Maybe I'm misreading, but this doesn't sound overly impressive

I think it does, a higher amount of people not only go to brewers games but watch the brewers as well. For years we heard about teams that draw like crap and the rebuttal is well they have good tv ratings. I think it says a lot for a relatively small market in baseball. 3rd best tv ratings vs 30 other teams is good considering Milwaukee has just over 2 million in it's tv market.

Pujols is driving down Fielder's value with every at bat he has in the World Series.

I heard the Nats were interested in Prince. Mark A. can't match *their* offer?

Braun ripped off for the golden glove award for his position.

This season, Braun committed just one error in 150 games (1,250 innings) in left to lead the NL in fielding percentage at the position. His eight assists ranked second behind Parra's 12.

Parra committed two errors in 125(25 fewer games than Braun) games (1,018 innings).

Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a lot more to fielding than not making errors.

For one example Braun made 259 put outs while playing 1250 innings. That's 1.87 put outs per 9 innings.
Parra played 1018 innings in LF. He made 287 put outs. That's 2.54 put outs per 9 innings.

Parra made a lot more plays than did Braun. This might be because Parra is a better defender. It might also be because DBacks pitchers let a lot more balls be hit to Parra than Brewers pitchers did to Braun.

Ultimate Zone Rating (UZR) attempts to account for the number of balls hit to a player and the number of plays that a player makes on those balls.

Parra had a UZR of 9.8. Meaning that Parra's defense saved the DBacks 10 more runs than an average left fielder.
Braun had a UZR of -3.8. Meaning that Braun's defense cost the Brewers 4 more runs than an average left fielder.

This matches up well with Tom Tango's Fan Scouting Report, where teams' fans rate their teams' players in a bunch of different categories.

Parra scored an 82 out of 100

Braun scored 43 out of 100

In this instance, I think the voters chose the right guy

Thanks Fili, good stuff as always! Why doesn't MLB count UZR? I can't find the stat anywhere on their site.

Okay after looking at all statistical categories I have no problem now with Parra winning the golden glove. Parra had 303 total chances vs brauns 268, Parra 5 dp's Braun 2, Parra 288 po's vs brauns 259.

On a side note, what the H happen to him in the playoffs going 1 for 18. Rookie gitters? Ariznona better hope so. He better not pull a Casey McGee. Bat .300 one year and 100+ rbi's then go cold.
