That was a big wild pitch.

Increased the Rangers' Run Expectancy from 0.881 runs to 1.388 runs

Would have pinch hit for Cain in the bottom of the 7th.

The chance to add a run is pretty big.

But more, when batters face a pitcher for the 4th time in a game they have a huge advantage. +75% vs Cain this year.

More Washington odd managing.

Borbon to lead off the 8th. What are you saving Vlad for? Who are you going to pinch hit him for later?

Watching tonight's game it certainly isn't going to be the Ranger unless they get better pitching. The Giants are firmly in control!

Apparently the Ranger staff is taking inspiration from their team president. Ryan walked more batters than anyone in MLB history.

btw....why does Ryan always look like he is tremendously pissed off about something?

Since the Diamondback's victory in 2001, baseball has not been kind to teams making their premier appearance in the World Series. In '05 it was the Astros getting swept by Chicago, in '07 it was the Rockies getting swept by the Red Sox, and in '08 it was the Rays going down 4 games to 1 against the Phillies.

The Rangers appear more ready to emulate those last three than they do Arizona.
