I like numbers and graphs instead of just words so I made some

In these graphs I plotted Yankee wins vs Yankee attendance. You can see how the "Attendance" and "Wins" graphs on the right have similar shapes. This indicates that as Yankee wins increase, so does attendance and also as Yankee wins decrease, so does attendance.

The graph on the bottom left is a scatter plot of attendance vs wins. The blue line is a trendline which indicates a clear trend of as wins increase so does attendance.

The graph at the top left was done to take into consideration overall attendance as chaotix mentioned in his last post. The red line is Yankee wins per season, the blue line is Yankee Attendance/MLB Average Attendance. Again, you can see that Yankee fans tend to pack Yankee stadium at a rate that follows the Yankees ability to win games.

A final graph

A scatter plot of Yankee Attendance compared to the MLB average and Yankee wins. Again, the trend line indicates a clear relationship between increasing wins and increasing attendance.

Where did I say they were bragging when they were losing? I said they are pretty quiet. How is saying they are quiet ridiculous?

Your comment shows a lack of reading comprehension.

"NY area fans just love winners and as long as they are winning they will brag about it all day long. When they start losing they become pretty quiet."
This was your line about bragging. If YOU read between the lines, you'd see that I was questioning when else someone would be bragging but you apparently are the one with the comprehension problem. You commented that they were quiet when they weren't winning but answer me this (i'll try again). Who is bragging when they're losing? Every team has some fans that brag when they are winning. It's definitely not just a Yankee thing, even though you might want to sell that or sell the idea that the Yankee fans brag more. That's a bunch of biased crap.
So the fact of the matter is not my lack of reading comprehension but just your lack of understanding. Next time i'll try to use smaller words for you and maybe i'll write it in crayon so you'll understand a little better.

Absolutely, incontrovertibly true. But come on, let's face it: right here in New York City we've got two completely different styles of fans. Given a winning Met team (we can dispense with the sarcasm) and a winning Yankee team, Met fans as a group are never as loud, as in-your-face, as Yankee fans. Yankee fans will also go out of their way to talk down to Met fans.

There; you'll notice I didn't bad-mouth your team (of course not; you already know I'm a Met fan!) but I laid out the deal in plain English.

The Yankees represent everything that is wrong with MLB. Look, if I was a Yankee or Boston or Chicago fan I'd love the way MLB is set up but for most of the teams there really isn't any hope of sustaining any type of long term success. Most of the teams in MLB cannot hang onto their homegrown players that blossom into all stars past their first contract.

For example, I'm an Indians fan. We have a few really talented young up and coming players in Carlos Santana, Sin Soo Choo, Astrubal Cabrara, Fausto Carmona, Chris Perez but we won't be able to hold onto any of them. They will all be Yankees within the next few years. It's just depressing.

IMO, baseball is only going to continue to lose popularity unless they do something to restore the competative balance. When 25 teams have no real chance to win long term you are going to lose the fans of those teams.

There is a reason the NFL is the number one sport in this country. Every team has a chance to turn it around rather quickly. You can still have long periods of excellence (Steelers, Colts, Patriots, San Diego, Baltimore) and crappy teams can fix things in a year or two. Tampa Bay, KC, St. Louis, Oakland, Detroit and Washington were all terrible last year. All are vastly improved. My Browns killed the Saints last week who turned around this week and beat up the Steelers. Any given Sunday. Now if this were baseball the Giants could come in and just offer Peyton Hillis, Joe Thomas, John Cribbs, TJ Ward and Ben Watson $25,000,000 a piece to leave the Browns after they beat the Saints.

I'll make it simple for you NY fans are just big mouth braggers who jump off the winners bandwagon at any sign of a losing streak.

Go ahead open that box of crayons and start writing smaller words so I understand.

Why do I keep finding things that make me glad I left the NY area?

Because you were a self-loathing northerner. Oh I forgot, sorry. You didn't like yourself. Everyone has their preferences whether it be climate, food, pace, etc...

The Yankees are just one team that plays within the set rules of MLB. Do I think the system is flawed? Hell yes!!! I do think there should be minimum and maximum caps and no revenue sharing.

Fred, now the Mets are fairly quiet. Their fans have been let down for a while now so expectations are lower but don't tell me during the true subway series or around 1986 that the fans that are highly obnoxious with their bragging were any less than the Yankee fans. That would be a lie. In 1986 I think the Mets fans were actually the worst I had seen around that time frame.
