Darvish must be the first pitcher in the history of the game to get a standing ovation after giving up five runs in five and two-thrids.

It's all about the hype! His history tells us that he should be ok in the long run....

The big question was (and is): Rangers' potential, or reality?

If Darvish and Feliz pan out, we're a dynasty in the making.

Feliz pitched more like a pitcher who'd have a 4 ERA though.

He struck out 15% of the batters he faced compared to 25% as a reliever.

He had a big difference in pitch selection.

As a reliever he threw a fastball about 80% of the time. In his start he through fastballs about half of the time. He threw about twice as many sliders as he did as a reliever and he really used his change up more. He threw 25% change ups compared to less than 5% as a reliever.

I certainly think that Feliz is one of the Rangers five best starters. But starting is a lot different than relieving

Wanted to ask about Nathan and while it looks like he is off to his usual slow start the stats don't reveal much about his velocity and pitch selection. He was always a bit abnormal for a closer in that he didn't rely that much on his fast ball, but his off-speed pitches needed him to be able to throw strikes with the fast-ball consistently. Whenever he started falling behind hitters he usually got hit...and hard. He acually pitched pretty good last year in the 2nd half.

He'll be fine. Slow starts are his forte. If all else fails, we have Feliz. I trust Wash and the coaches to work with Nathan and get his ship righted.....

The Rangers go for their first three-game sweep in Minnesota since 1999. Let's see if Feliz can build upon his seven-inning shutout in his first start.
