He BB'd 4, which is 6%. In his career, Oswalt walked 5.6% of batters and 5.6% last season.
Last season, Oswalt's average fastball velocity was around 91 MPH. As far as I can tell, his velocity is in the "low nineties" this season.
Looks like he's a similar pitcher this year to what he was last which isn't a bad piece to add to a rotation tha needs it right now

Oswalt's first start looked impressive enough. He faced 29 hitters and K'd 6 while walking 1. He gave up 11 ground balls, 6 fly balls and 5 line drives. The 11 ground balls is good, 5 line drives is a bit high. As a result, Oswalt gave up 9 hits. Using batted ball FIP those batted ball rates say that Oswalt should have given up about 4 runs per 9.
According to Brooksbaseball, Oswalt threw 37 fastballs at an average speed of 91.5 MPH, the same as last season.
He also generated 6 swinging strikes on his 97 pitches which is just over 6%. The major league average (for starters) is about 8%
All-in-all a good outing. Maybe just a bit of rust
