Which has zero relevance to my observations about fans at the game here in Phoenix ................
He made a choice based on MOSTLY a mild, nagging injury. He doesn't have to satisfy the public and is not bad for sitting this one out. To those who were upset about it...get over yourselves.
Please,...don't compare Reyes to Jeter. Get back to me in about 10 years and we'll see if they can be mentioned in the same sentence then.

Reyes FTW. There was no reason why Jeter didn't attend. His reputation just went downhill. A lot of Yankee fans are pissed off at him.
I can see where Jeter is coming from, but I also agree with people like Skip Bayless. Jeter is really the face of baseball because of his loyalty to his team, baseball, and because he's a model "citizen" of the game. He's an ambassador for the game, and even though i dont think he should have been in the All Star game, he could have at least been in attendance. But again, I can definitely see both sides to the equation.

Yes - because I know when I have an injury I play in a game, go 5 for 5, run aggressive on the basepaths then take a flight two times in three days and stroll all over a remote city and use it as an excuse as to why I can't do the exact same in a different city
By tipping his hat and leaving he would be depriving someone else a chance to play. By not showing up someone else got a chance. The fact is that there are TONS of haters of the Yankees and this was just a BS reason for them again to complain about the best team in the history of MLB.
um no, Ryan Braun was injured and showed up like many others already mentioned. Braun didn't take a roster spot away from anyone.
oh, and I'm a Yankee fan and am sick of his whole act, he's not even close to be worth the money he's getting, and giving him that stupid contract just gives everyone more ammunition to hate NY, and frankly, some of the "hate" is warranted.

well said
All Yankee fans think that Jeters contract was too much but it was hard for the owners to let him go because of what he has done for the team for so many years. No matter what, he was supposed to retire as a Yankee, just like Mariano.

like these millionaires aren't spoiled enough, you support them getting paid for what they've done in the past, not what they'll do in the future?
how bizarre, how bizarre
