Satchel Paige was on that team, but not present for the photo. It was 3 years after he ended his MLB career, and at age 50, he went 11-4 with a 1.86 ERA. Won 20 more games for the Marlins over the next two years. Don Cardwell, who signed the picture, later threw a no-hitter in the majors.
M just seems to be a hard letter to get right on caps. The Braves did a good job, though. In the Marlins' case, that's an upside down W. Maybe they should just leave it blank.
Can the stadium be counted along with the new look? That looks AWESOME.
Seems like it will be a pain in the ass to get to though.
Sure - the stadium does look like an absolute gem and the additional revenue should make the team look a lot better in regards to what they put the uniform on
No really perfect location in the Miami metro to suit everyone - but I think they'll get this location to work ....... the site has hosted a lot of larger crowds in the past and they've now built additional parking and there is improved metro options over the orange bowl heyday
however, it's a different thing getting people there at 7pm on a weekday as opposed to a saturday afternoon
The funny thing is that Miami is eating this stuff with a spoon. Gear is selling like hot cakes, and everybody seems ready to embrace this new transmutation of the Marlins.
Miami is not like any other city in the US; residents don't pride themselves on their history or intellectualism, they just want to be known as sun soaked party animals with a high sense of fashion, and Loria (owner) is capitalizing on that. The man is making all the right moves, and this new logo fits like...well, a glove.
I personally hated the Marlins old logo, seemed to me like a fishing team. This one, well, it represents Miami, whether you love it or hate it, and either way, this is Miami's team now, not your team.
How embarrassing! as a casual Miami fan of anything Miami, how did that design make it out of the board room! Looks like a team in a LGBT Softball League
