Milwaukee's Mike Fieres 6 no-hit innings.

Ended by a Zack Cozart double

Today in baseball...

...the Nationals lead by 1 run in the bottom of the 12th inning but Houston had runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs.

Brett Wallace smashed a ball to left-center field and Roger Bernadina made this catch.

I'm pleased as punch to get out of Detroit with a split. In the ninth Soriano had first and third with none out but escaped without the aid of a DP.

Maybe .310/.380 as a projection.

Oriole SSs are hitting .280/.390 on the year
Third 3Bmen are hitting .320/.405

He's not a clear offensive upgrade on either of those positions.

Twitter says he'll be playing 3B where Wilson Betemit has been playing. Betemit is ... uh ... not good at defense. Machado is younger, faster, and maybe a SS. He should be a defensive upgrade.

I'm not sure that Machado will help the Orioles win any more than Betemit will, but I do like that the Orioles are being aggressive when they have a chance to get into the playoffs.
Batting 9th and playing 3rd for the Orioles against the Royals

Guess he needed more time in the minors learning how to adjust to ML pitching.

Today in his 16th game as a Yankee, Ichiro drew his first NY walk.

NY now 8-8 with Susuki-san.

Ichiro has dipped a little below replacement level, now at -0.2 WAR as a Yank.

Or he can adjust to hitting major league pitching.

He triples on a curveball in his 2nd at bat after grounding out on a curveball in his 1st at bat.

He also scored on a sac fly
