Well as the Tigers and Sox have been locked in a struggle to see whom can stumble over the finish line first, the KC Royals have played well against both teams, sweeping both of their last series against each. The Sox kick off a weekend series tonight vs KC and a bad feeling is being shared by all Sox fans. They should beat the Royals, but it sure feels like they are going to lose 2 of 3, or get swept.

Thank god the NFL starts this weekend.

Hey, we rallied. That's what matters.

Gregor Blanco incorrectly called safe at 1st base.

Gregor Blanco incorrectly called out at 3rd base.

Sometimes things balance out.

I'd still like instant replay to help umpires make the right call the first time

And that was in the same inning. Blanco, who didn't deserve to be on first, attempted to go all the way to third on Matt Cain's bunt up the thirdbaseline. Cain was thrown out at first and the ball relayed to third where Dodger catcher A.J. Ellis was sprinting to cover the bag. Blanco reached the bag ahead of Ellis' swipe tag, but the thirdbase ump thumbed him out.

He probably deserved to be out at third anyway, atonement for the foolishness of risking making the third out at third base in a one run game.

LA returns to 4.5 back with a 3-2 win at AT&T this afternoon.

Buster Posey was in the spotlight all day. He was 2 for 3 at the plate with a walk, a run scored and a RBI. Behind the plate he nailed all three Dodgers who attempted steals.

And Matt Cain's wild pitch past Posey allowed LA to tie the game in the 8th.

Orioles beat the Yankees and both teams are tied atop the AL East.

Another umpiring mistake did the Yankees no favors.

Orioles fans won't have much sympathy however.
