The Dodgers today played through the 5th inning without a defensive player being credited with an assist. All strikeouts, fly outs, and a 3U grounder to first.

Max Scherzer pulled from his start against the A's after just 2 innings.

"Shoulder fatigue" was the indicated reason. He's scheduled for an MRI.

Big blow for the Tigers if something's wrong with Max

Miguel Cabrera with another HR tonight.

#39 on the season.

A career high

At the moment, Miggy has hit 65% better than the league average hitter. That'd be his 3rd best season

I know you loathe the stats that it is comprised of, but he is within reach of the triple crown....

Whitesox win 3-2 with three solo HRs...standard. Magic number 13

I don't loathe them.

They just aren't best measure of offense.

Miguel is leading in the single crown contest. He leads the league in weighted Runs Above Average 50.9 (not including tonight's game) to Mike Trout's 49.

Miguel's the best hitter in the AL.

Which makes it easy to see why Trout should be the MVP.

Trout is within sniffing distance of Miguel's offense while being a gold-glove center fielder to Miguel's poor defensive third base.

...Vernon Wells did his best Mike Trout impersonation.

It wasn't that good

Cardinals batters have struck out 25 times in the last 17 innings, and won both games. Maybe that's what they've been doing wrong -- not striking out enough.
