How hard were the Giants trying to win in the game referenced by your post just above that? With a week to go, teams that are no longer in contention or who have clinched frequently use players and lineups that do not necessarily reflect a high priority of winning.

Teams are under no obligation to help or hurt any other teams, are they? I think that Boston is pursuing its own interests in these final games, which is as it should be.

I thought the above poster was just pointing out an ironic fact. Besides that, the red sox only beat the O's 1 out of 3. Anyways, it's kind of silly to think that a team would throw a game. A lot of young players are finally getting their chance and I'm pretty sure that they are going to focus more on helping the team win rather than diminishing the chances of a rival team from winning the division.

Zack Greinke has 13 K's in 5 innings for Anaheim tonight.

He's also thrown 110 pitches.

He K'd 4 in the 4th

The rest of the Angels' staff recorded 7 K's in the remaining 4 innings of that game making the Angels the 4th team in history to strikeout 20 batters in 9 innings.

Nationals bombing away on Kyle Kendrick

Home runs for:
Bryce Harper
Ian Desmond
Kurt Suzuki

Last edited by filihok; 09-26-2012 at 06:52 PM.. Reason: Suzuki not LaRoche. But Suzuki is Japanese for 'roach'

Speaking of homeruns...

Edwin Encarnacion his 42nd.

Meanwhile, Alex Gordon takes a home run away from Miguel Cabrera on one of the highest hit balls I've ever seen.

The 1325th Oakland hitter struck out this year.

That's an AL record
