I'm watching the game and I have got to say that was a great catch. Amazing how the highlight is online already.

Yesterday, the White Sox scored two runs all game. HBP and a RBI 4-6-3 DP.

Getting no hit at home was an appropriate way for the Pirates to clinch their 20th consecutive non winning season. They need to sweep their final five games to avoid their 20th consecutive losing season.

Batted Ball FIP which uses K's, BB's, and batted ball types (line drives, flyballs and groundballs) to estimate ERA says that Bailey should have given up .68 runs tonight, an impressive outing.

Other recent no-hitters:
Felix Hernandez' perfect game BBFIP = .73
Johan Santana's no hitter BBFIP = .29
Justin Verlander's no-hitter BBFIP = 1.42
Francisco Liriano's no-hitter BBFIP = 4.59

Buster Posey had a triple and a double tonight while Andrew McCutchen & Friends were getting no hit. McCutchen is 0 for his last ten and Posey has moved ahead of him in NL batting title race, .334 to .330. So perhaps it will be Posey who is the chief beneficiary of Melky's ineligibility.

The Yankee game ended at about 4:00, and it is now 4:31, and the commentators on the Fox Chicago/Tampa game, which started at 4:05 are refusing to mention it, although they have reported at length on the other AL division race games. I think the Yankee cheerleaders at Fox are in denial, or else the producers are afraid to tell McCarver the Yankees lost, for fear that he'll have a heart attack.

It's 4:34, and they just came on with the update, the Yankee game is "now" over and they "just" lost.

The A's came up with another fantastic walk off win. A two run homer by Donaldson tied it in the ninth, a three run blast by Brandon Moss won it in the 10th.

This came on the heels of some truly bizarre base running decisions in the 8th.

The A's were down 4-1 as their at bats began. With one out Crisp singled, followed by a walk to Drew. Cespedes fouled out and then with two out, Crisp took off and stole third. Down by three with two outs in the 8th and two on and you attempt a steal of third? Huh?

Moss than doubled down the right field line, Crisp of course scored and even though the A's were still down by two at this point, Drew gets sent and is gunned down by several feet.

The win wiped away all that dumbness.
