If needed their effectiveness might be decreased.
With Griffin only making it through three, this becomes magnified. Down four, they may just use their mop-up guys unless the offense can make a comeback.

Awful play by Josh Hamilton.

A's take a 2 run lead after being behind by 4 runs. So much for low scoring A's ballpark.

If the A's hang on to win, Josh Hamilton is their MVP.

Hopefully this won't jinx them, but the A's pen is just mowing down the Rangers.

Doolittle with a key strikeout of Josh Hamilton in the 8th with 2 outs and a runner on base.

A's win, end up in first place over the Texas Rangers.

Swept 3 games.

Amazing bullpen performance, really remarkable how overpowering and consistent they have been the past few weeks.

They must be in complete shock in Texas..their once majestic lead...and now they are a game away from elimination from the whole party.

The A's only day this season in which they alone held first place ......was today. Just the third time that has ever happened, one of the other times was the Bobby Thompson game.

I've been an A's fan since '79 and this probably rates as their greatest season, coming as such a surprise to everyone.

We don't have an "Official" A's thread , so lets go over to the Rangers thread and taunt them.

A's bullpen went 6 1/3 innings today, coming in when they fell behind early in the game.

Five relief pitchers gave up only 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 8 batters.

What an effort, really remarkable. This team wasn't supposed to win more than 70 or so games this season. Many of their starters and pitchers weren't even top prospects coming into this season.
