How many calls like this and the Jim Joyce call will it take for the rock-brained commissioners office to try to get their own call right.

How much you wanna bet they will call, when they do, for booth replays, rather than integrity of the officiating. I think the greatest disadvantage with the replay is the problem of defining its applicability. You can keep making wider and wider limits to the replay, and you'll still have the last out of the last game of the series wrong and "not reviewable" and therefore no avenue for remedy.

How about one post-game appeal per team per game? A board will review it and only give statistical credit when necessary. Therefore, the Jones call would still result in a perfect game, but a base hit (which could've otherwise created a rally to change the outcome of the game) will only be credited as a hit to the player's stat sheet.
