They are a minor league team. Underfunded and cheap owners. Attendance sucks too.

they're are having tough April schedule, that's for sure - facing all their AL East opponents and Houston and Detroit.....if they can finish the month near .500, I'd be comfortable as they figure out their bullpen....they lost a few games already just because the bullpen couldn't hold the lead

headed out to the park today to see them take on the Tigers who they've beaten the first two games of their series so far.....

wouldn't say the owner is cheap - would say that he's financially responsible

They have scored the second most runs in the AL, but have allowed the third most. While that is the mark of a .500 team, at least the games should be entertaining with plenty of baserunners and lots of scoring by both sides.

The advantages gained by the enlightened management which was in place have been negated by the rest of baseball catching up. Smarts but no money can beat money without smarts sometimes, but now it is smarts with no money vs smarts with plenty of cash.

Small market teams are probably doomed to repetitive cycles of each competitive period having to be followed by years of rebuilding. Tampa Bay might be better off selling off their most attractive assets and going into rebuild, then they are as a .500 team. Pulling the plug and enduring terrible seasons is what gets you high draft choices.
