Gotta take it one game at a time. Agree though they have to beat the WS.....I'm happy that the team has made it to 1 Sept and still are in a race.

Happy they didn't unload their players like normally they do when the team is out of the running.

Yes, this was a welcome sight. The other scenario gets old really fast...

I disagree. I thought they held onto Shields too long. And imagine what they could have got for Crawford right after the All Star break in his final season as a Ray. Even BJ Upton. Hate to say it but Longoria in July 2016 would have been a great time to trade him. He's been pretty average this year.

all among the most popular players except Upton - hard enough to be a Rays fan w/ the farm club players, but you start trading your best too early, you're really going to see an empty stadium worse than it is today

Upton signed a 5 year $75 million deal and was disliked by most Rays fans. How much more perfect a trade scenario could there be? Plus, with their inability to make a quality draft pick, the only chance the Rays have to acquire a superstar is to trade for one in AAA. Farm clubs build championships for low budget teams, not 35 year old free agents.

well, Rays are as good as I expected. They do have some talented players....but hard to keep up w/ the high salaried teams......would have been good to get to .500 pct, but even now that looks impossible.......guess it's time to focus on Da Bucs.

I lost all respect for Souza tonight. He treated Cobb's farewell like any other dugout interview and threw bags of sunflower seeds at him. It wasn't funny when Shields did it, it wasn't funny when Price did it, and it was off the charts un-funny tonight. It was like watching a bully at school or a jerk messing with his younger brother. I was dying to see Cobb knock him out with one punch. With any luck Stu will fine him $50k for being an idiot.

I hope Cobb gets treated better by his new teammates.

Souza does stupid stuff.....especially in the outfield. KK has got to be tired of him. That said, Souza was voted MVP of the team, I believe.

Rays clinch 3rd in division over two teams w/ double the salary they have.

Still contemplating whether to renew my tickets. Salary to be cut this season by Sternberg. I enjoy going to the games in the afternoons, but if the players are a bunch of no-names from the minors, don't really enjoy that unless they're good players like Snell.
