I hoped they'd get him to an LA team, but SF is close enough, I guess. Bittersweet. New beginnings for the Rays who need to reboot big time. Also allows them to unload a large contract. Looking at 100-loss season most likely. Part of being a Rays fan - so happy they didn't trade him to NYY or Bosox or AL team.

not all of them - mostly the teams with low salaries and need to dump payroll - this "veteran" was the face of the franchise for their best years.

All try to teams do this and fortunate ones pull it off in time. The Rays owners are not cheap. It was the right move.

They sure are cheap when compared to other team's owners. Consistently have the league's lowest salaries and rarely do the owner(s) break their self-imposed rule about team salary being low.
