Pitching help is not far away with injured Rays rehabbing in the minors now. Could very well have a .500 record through May and a be couple games over .500 through June.

Span and Colome traded for cheaper pitching. Makes sense as Span's salary didn't belong on this team. Johnny Field and his rookie salary are a much better fit. Colome and his 1.477 WHIP belong elsewhere as well.

They had moved to .500 and then proceeded to lose 7-8 games in a row...

I guess that is going to be the pattern this year...

Yep, very streaky. Winning those Seattle series would have put them nearly in the second wildcard position. I'm lovin' all the AAA guys being called up though in the meantime. Kiermaier is due back soon as well. Look for another trade for relief pitching soon...

Did I miss why they traded Colome? That was relief pitching...

Package deal with Span. They're paid $5.2 mil and $9 mil respectively (Plus $2 mil more by the Giants for Span). Romo makes $2.5 mil and the rest of the relievers make about $550k each, league minimum. Colome was the worst of the regular relievers so I wasn't upset about him leaving.

Hechevarria will probably be next with his $5.9 mil salary and superb defense at SS.

Nice little 5 game win streak over the Yankees and Nationals. If the Rays can keep it up over the Astros they'll end the month above .500.

Took 3 out of 4 against Houston too. Nice 10-3 run the last couple weeks. Marlins, Mets, Tigers, and Twins up next which should be easy. We'll see...

Snell is making a bid for the Cy Young award.

Should be some big trades coming across the league, Hopefully the big names go to the NL.

Yes, they should be able to make a push from here...but this has been where they start losing games again--right when they within a game or two of .500. Let's see if they can get above .500 and stay there this time...
