Looks like you can blame the local businesses and the Rays' ownership for not tapping into the corporations to get their support......Rays fans are in the stadium in the same manner as most other teams.

What Would Rays Attendance Be With Typical Corporate Support?

Or people in the area simply don't care for the Rays and don't bother coming to the ballpark.

Businesses are only going to shell out the money for season tickets if they feel it's worth the investment. Why am I going to buy tickets if my clients/customers simply don't care to go?

Flat out, it's sad that the Rays have been very competitive over the last several years, yet they have awful attendance. It really is embarrassing for MLB to have a team that has played as well as the Rays have and have thousands and thousands of empty seats each home game. Not to mention the massive number of Red Sox, Yankees, Tigers fans that come in droves when their team is in town.

Baltimore is a prime example of a market that responded very well to a good team. They had been pretty bad for several years in a row. You would see thousands and thousands of Red Sox and Yankee fans flood the stadium when they were in town and outnumber the Baltimore fans. Now that the Orioles have played better, that has changed. Sure there are still a good number of Sox and Yankees fans down there, but the Orioles fans now far outnumber the Sox and Yankees fans.

I'll never understand why fans who aren't a fan of a particular team are so obsessed with its attendance numbers.

Except that the TV viewership is there - so they care for the Rays enough to watch every game televised.

Going tonight as well......went to all three NYY games. Getting my fill of Rays' games. Will go to all three Red Sox games, and a couple of the Orioles games at the end. Hopefully those games will mean something......

Time to rest Hellickson and bring up an arm from Durham.

Well that's what they decided to do on Hellickson - except he's going to Port Charlotte to rest.

Tough loss to the Angels last night after taking a 4-run lead into the 7th. Wasted a decent job by Hernandez.

They will.

Don't be surprised if the Rays surpass Boston for the division lead in the coming weeks. This could be the most exciting race in the majors this season, and it bears watching.

should be an intersting season - and a potentially disasterous one (2015).....

New GM

New Manager, new bench coach along w/ other coaches.....manager has never managed a game at any level including Little League baseball or girls softball.

Gone: Hellickon, Joyce, Zobrist, Sean Rodriquez, Escobar, Molina, David Price, Wil Myers

New: too many to list

It very well could be ugly......in 2015
