When ESPN showed the highlights the past 2 nights, I saw a EMPTY stadium. Maybe those 28,000 were on the opposite side of the camera

Just saw the Nats have the best record in the league. When I made this thread in June I had a feeling that they would be a playoff team but to have the best record is just a complete and total shock.

They have a better record than the Yankees and it's almost september..WOW

I was expecting the Nats to have their first winning season this year. I was not expecting them to have the best record in baseball or win the NL East. It has been a ton of fun watching them all season and I hope they can keep it up to claim the NL East.

Then the question will be how deep can they get into the playoffs with a young team that hasn't tasted success before and one of their best pitchers shut down.

I don't think they will get to the WS but atleast they have made the postseason for the first time

I know Strasburg is out, but he was the 2nd worst pitcher in the 2nd half anyways, but who's gonna beat them (especially if they end up getting home field??)?? They haven't lost a series to the Braves yet this year, the Cards, Pirates, Dodgers and any other WC contender is awful, they've owned the Giants this season (5-1 record), and the Reds got to beat up on a crappy division this year to boost their win total playing the Cubs & Astros 30 times. I actually think if the Phillies end up getting the 2nd wildcard and then beat the Braves in the WC game, that's their biggest threat just because of the pitching they have.

The Nats secured a place in the postseason last night. First playoff baseball in DC since 1933! Now it is on to the NL East!

next goal is to clinch the NL East, Braves are only 5.5 games back with 12 games to play, let's just hang on and win the NL East pennant and I can breathe easier

Braves are playing well and the Nats are kind of stalling a bit...hopefully the Nats can get a few wins in the next several days and go ahead and clinch the NL East. Was hoping to do it in Philly, but now it will be in either St. Louis or DC.

we are so close, SO CLOSE to winning the division, but I'm already preparing myself emotionally just in case the Braves catch up and we lose the division and end up being the wildcard. Braves have a cakewalk the rest of the way, Marlins 5 more times and the Mets 3 times, all bottom feeder teams with nothing to play for. Meanwhile the Nats still have to face a surging and desperate Phillies team 5 more times and the Cardinals 3 more times.
