I agree here. A long losing streak will run you out of the playoffs real fast. They have to be able to turn around bad circumstances quickly, and win games that they should lose. When we start seeing that - then there's nothing holding them back.

Yes. The road trip just prior to the All-Star break sent them tumbling out of first place. I'm hoping for at least a 5-5 record on the current trip.

The Astros' losing skid ended last night in Oakland after laying more eggs in the Rangers series. Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve have come up big again in last night's contest.

Weekend series just ended against the Tigers, and the Astros won the series two games to one. And another walk-off win today at the hands of Jose Altuve (this is his third this season).

Default We Did It Again

And what do you know? Another walk-off win. This time, it was Marwin Gonzalez with a home run over the Rays, 3-2.

Default No-Hitter Alert

Bottom of the 8th at Minute Maid: Mike Fiers of the Astros has a no-hitter after 8. He's never pitched nine innings and never thrown more than 113 pitches. To this point, he has 120.

And Minute Maid Park has never had a no-hitter thrown there by anyone, for or against. Oh, and tonight's affair is being done against the Dodgers and Chase Utley making his L.A. debut.

My only problem was that it was against the Dodgers, which is my long time favorite team.

But good for the Astros. I will be heading up to the game tomorrow with a group of Dodger fans.

The Astros will have their work cut out for them for the remainder of that series. They've got to face Greinke and Kershaw in the next two.

Congratulations, Astros fans! You thought it'd be Keuchel or McHugh doing one of those, but Fiers did great for you. Exciting stuff.
