Big win today for Houston! They got one from the Rangers, 9-7, and they finally got some needed breaks going their way.

Home finale is tomorrow. Every game from here on out is a must-win.

Gregerson really lost his cool today when Hinch came out.

Astros did what I didn't think they could do going in, and that's take two out of three from the Rangers.

Time to get some business done in Seattle and Phoenix. Rangers need to lose some games (actually, all of them) for the Astros to get that division crown. The greater likelihood (and more realistic) for Houston is a Wild Card berth. I'd be happier if they somehow stormed back and would win the division in order to assure themselves of more than just a one-game playoff.

Who could blame him? He's a fierce competitor and he's a bulldog. Just didn't get it done yesterday, but A J also pulled him to save him for today's game, in which he got the save.

We squeaked out a big series win vs. Texas. Now for a 6 and possibly 7-9 game road trip. It would be nice to win the tqo last series and go into the playoffs on a roll. Hope Keuchel gets to 20.

Earlier this year (in May), remember, the Astros did have a hot road winning streak during that time, so it can be done again. They actually spent a brief period of time regarded as the majors' best road team. Now, they aren't now, but fortunes can change. Never say never. Houston's fortunes appear to have changed in the last two games against the Rangers. Will it spell doom for Texas when they play Detroit and the LA Angels? We'll find out.

But we'll also find out how much mettle the Astros have built up in Seattle first, and then Phoenix. These are losing teams we're fixin' to play, and our guys need to get up for them.

Yes, early in the year, they had a good road run. That last trip before the All-Star break was the tipping point. Starting with that trip, they've been awful on the road.

I'm hoping the gravity of the situation (no pun intended) will help them to have a good trip.

That being said, it's nice to have meaningful games this late in the season.

Nice win last night. McCullers looked good/bullpen too. Angels keep winning, Twins keep winning. Go Astros!

It's incredible how the Astros pulled it off last night. They must keep winning. Hopefully, the Rangers will lose again so the Astros can climb back toward first place.

The problem with the Astros this weekend is that the Angels & Rangers play each other, so it's unlikely they can win the division, however the Wildcard is very much in the bag. They go 4-0 in their last 4 and I believe they are guaranteed a playoff spot (or at least a game 163) no matter what happens in the Angels/Rangers series. Even a 3-1 finish might be enough to nab a game 163 on Monday, so all they can do is keep winning, and let the chips fall where they do.

Keuchel goes for win number 20 on Friday.

Wouldn't be bad.

Here's what Ringolsby is saying. These guys are hanging on the verge of fading, and can they survive?
