The Houston Astros are now proving why they are baseball's hottest team. They didn't let the Rangers intimidate them like in years past, and now the 'Stros are 6-1 this season against Texas.

41-16 now. And it's on to Kansas City.

This is a crazy stat posted last night after the game

Quote:
That's 11 in a row for the Astros, who improve to 42-16 -- including 22-6 on the road. The 7-8-9 hitters drove in six runs in the 7-3 win over the Royals. Here's a great number from ESPN Stats & Info: Houston's bottom three hitters are batting .285 and slugging .502 on the season -- that's better than the MLB average for 3-4-5 hitters (.265/.459).

Imagine what damage the Astros can do if they get any consistency from the 3, 4, and 5 starting pitchers. Keuchel and McCullers have been brilliant all year.

They've scored 7 runs tonight through 3 2/3 innings. You don't need great pitching if you are scoring that much. I'd love to see them pick up another starter though

Well... apparently you do need pitching every so often... who knew?

They may still get a starting pitcher via a trade before July 31. But you guys have been awesome this season and great things are still to come.

Default Five-O

The Astros have roared back after their recent slump where they couldn't win any 3-game series at home, and so, they go on the road to Oakland, swept the A's, and are now at 50 victories.

Joining some pretty good company: 1995 Indians, 1998 Yankees, 2001 Mariners, & 2005 White Sox that won 50 of their first 74 games. 3 of those 4 teams made the World Series, and 2 of those teams ultimately won the World Series.

Great homestand for the 'Stros, having wrapped up at 4-2 on it. They now head to Atlanta.
