Tim Lincecum is starting the 9th against the Padres. He has walked four, hit a batter and given up no hits.

He has needed 131 pitches to get this far.

Lincecum really had his stuff working last night. I cannot recall a game which featured so many ridiculous swings by a lineup, Tim made all the Padres look like Sandoval at the plate, going after anything regardless of location.

It will be interesting to see what the impact of throwing 148 pitches is on his next start. The timing is fortunate in that the All Star Break will generate some extra days of rest for Lincecum.

Justin Verlander has a no-hitter going through six. He's walked four. His opponent, the Rangers Martin Perez, has allowed only three homers, so there have been no hits yet in the game in which a runner has stopped on base or the ball has fallen on the field..

TV game on TBS.

Moreland doubles off the wall in the seventh, so it's broken up.

Boston's Brandon Workman is no-hitting the A's through 5, outpitching Colon who has retired 12 in a row.

Workman now through 6, still good. Third pitcher in under 24 hours to go through six.

Coco Crisp beats out an infield hit in the 7th.

I've been a fan of Lincecum for some time now, and I'd been hearing people say "his time as 'The Freak'" is long past.

Congrats, Tim!
