I was actually joking, what are the cards going to do in one inning that they couldn't do in the previous 8? lol

In the past three decades, the Cardinals have done this three times --- blown 3-1 leads in series. In those blown series, the final scores in Game 7 were 11-0, 15-0 and 9-0.

The Giants finally clinch at home and it happens in a rainstorm.

Not much point in dumping Gatorade on anyone, everyone is already soaked. Probably half the team will have pneumonia when the Series starts.

That rain was something! Was a tad worried they might call the game but clearly, the fans and the players didn't want it.

A good night for the Giants! My grandfather (who lived in San Francisco and was an avid fan) is smiling now.

They can't call a playoff game. All games must go 9 innings. They could have suspended it until the rain stopped

You can also go back to 1968, where they blew a 3-1 lead to the Tigers and lost 13-1 and 4-1 in the final two games of that series.

Here's how truly spectacular the Cardinals' 3-1 implosions have been:

1968: 3-1 over the Tigers. Result: lose series 4-3 and get outscored 22-5 in the last 3 games.
1985: 3-1 over the Royals. Result: lose series 4-3 and get outscored 19-2 in the final three games.
1996: 3-1 over the Braves. Result: lose series 4-3 and get outscored 32-1 in the final three games.
2012: 3-1 over the Giants. Result: lose series 4-3 and get outscored 20-1 in the final three games.

I know a lot of teams have found some creative ways to humiliate themselves in the playoffs, but so have the Cardinals.

Sorry. Yes, I should have written the word suspend. That's really what I meant. You'd think that as many of these games I've watched over the years, I'd use the right word.
