Hey look at that, Atlanta's in the top 10. I'm surprised. I'm also surprised by the gap between the Yankees, then the Sox, and then everybody else. I mean I expected those teams to be at the top but I didn't expect the gaps to be so big.

I think 20 years ago, Atlanta would have been in the top 3 or 4, along with the Cubs, because all their games were televised on cable everywhere.

The Yanks and the Sox are pretty much shoved down our throats via ESPN, movies, books, etc. Think about how often those two teams are mentioned in popular American culture vs. other MLB teams. Naturally, the idea of "baseball" is then boiled down to those two teams.

Yeah, Atlanta would've definitely been probably either 3 or 4. I remember even here in LA, I'd get broadcasts of Braves games (via TBS) and Cubs games (via WGN), since both of those channels were standard in any basic cable package back in the 1990s.

If you add up the two Chicago teams, they get somewhat closer to Boston....
This is nit picking but the "like" feature on f book came much later.
No you're right...I've had my Facebook since 2006 and I should've remembered that.
It would be interesting to track this over time and see where the bandwagon starts going.
