Filihok, do you have any ideas on where Hamilton might go?

Dodgers sign Brandon League for 3 years and $22.5 million plus a vesting option for a 4th year.

Yikes!

That's a boatload of money for a guy who's not that special.

Over the last 3 years:
His K% of 18% ranks 129th out of qualified relievers.
His BB% of 8% ranks 57th
His SIERA (which estimates runs allowed) of 3.34 ranks 84th

If Soriano opts out the Yankees can offer him the Qualifying Offer of $13.3 million. They would almost certainly do this. With the questions about Rivera they need another arm in the bullpen, so they'd likely want Soriano to remain in NY. But if he chooses to leave, by making the QO, they'd pick up an extra draft pick.

For Soriano, he has to opt-out. He'll pick up the $1.5 million buy out plus he can resign with the Yankees for $13.3 million. Instead of making $14 million next season he'll make $14.8 million.
Soriano has opted out. He makes a cool $1.5 million for doing so. Now we'll see what contract he signs.

Also opting out, Ryan Ludwick who gives up $5 million for likely a lot more.

If Anaheim didn't send any money KC's way, this looks like a pretty crappy trade for the Royals

Looks like $1 million going to KC.

Meaning they're paying $12 million and gave up Brandon Sisk.

They could surely get a comparable pitcher for less than $12 mills. There is a reason that the Royals are the Royals.

Yankees have made the $13 million qualifying offer to Soriano, Kuroda and Swisher

Red Sox made the offer to Big Papi

The Rangers have made the offer to Josh Hamilton

Rays made the offer to BJ Upton

Swisher, Hamilton and Upton will certainly decline, as they will get long term deals in free agency.

Kuroda is an interesting case. I imagine he'll likely either return to Japan or sign with the Yankees.

Soriano is also interesting, as mentioned above.

Big Papi, He'd like a 2 or 3 year deal, but may have to settle for 1 year and $13 million
