Of the two, I'd say the Giants are the lesser of the two evils though.
So, the Tigers got lucky because they played weak playoff opponents, yet one of those opponents (who the Tigers swept) should be in the World Series instead?

My point is the Tigers are only where they are because they're in a weak division this year. Even at that, they had a few long losing streaks. There was even speculation of Jim Leyland's job being in jeopardy.

Well the Tigers were fortunate to be in the worst division in baseball just to get in. But thats not really a valid criticism, you work with the system in place.

That said, I hope the Giants win in 4 games by an average of 10 runs a game

My point exactly. At least the Giants got by the Reds(although with the help of injuries) and the Cards. Getting by the Oakland A's and the Yankees was a walk in the park by comparison.

Last win for the Tigers in the World Series was in 1984 and the last win for the Giants in the World Series was in 2010.

In cases like that, I always tend to go for the team who gone the longest without winning at the World Series. And sometimes its the team who has fewer wins at the World Series.

I'll be rooting for the Tigers.

Interesting, because this is what you said:

The division the Tigers are in is a moot point. The Tigers qualified for the tournament, and did what they needed to do once they were in.

Tigers in 6 games. I didn't realize winning 88 games was "struggling". Funny how they went on to sweep the Yankees. There's always an excuse.

They played pretty bad for big chunks of the season. Thats not an excuse, its a fact. Ultimately I wouldn't care though if I was a fan of them, as all that matters is how you finish.

This will be fun to watch. That's all I can really say. I don't know who to go with here. Both teams are good, a slight edge may go to the Giants having home field, but both teams can win on the road.
