That doesn't make it more popular, in fact it could be the opposite. Using a football password could make it less secure/easier to guess so people use baseball. Popularity has to be measured by the purchase of league licensed products and TV ratings, and it both cases baseball is second behind football with basketball a threat of catching up.

baseball is still popular, but more popular than football? I wouldn't go that far. Maybe this season it got a little more popular because the Nationals started winning. I know a lot of people around here didn't give a crap about baseball untill the Nats started winning and now it's like they think they're baseball experts

to be honest, I haven't watched any baseball since the Nats blew that 2 run lead in the top of the 9th in game 5 of that Nats-Cards NLDS, watching baseball just brings back the trauma and pain...just waiting for spring training to roll along again. By then I'll be fully recovered and ready to watch baseball again
