If the Giants play like they have for the past three games, Detroit doesn't have a chance. And I'm not taking anything away from the Tigers - they're a good ball club. But the Giants are doing exactly what they did in 2010, and they're peaking at the right time. This is a little bit different in that the Giants were peaking in the weeks leading up to the playoffs, where they've been a little more inconsistent this time around. But the last three nights...man, they put on a clinic and showed the Cardinals how its done. Hate to admit it, but that's the truth.

The Tigers have pitching, but their production and run-scoring has been only 'meh' in the playoffs. They were fortunate in that they took on a Yankees team that was really struggling at the plate. The Tigers are going to be facing a team that can score runs in a hurry. Infield play will be critical for the Tigers. If they can get ground balls, turn the big play, make the diving catch, and supplement the power pitching of Verlander, Scherzer, and company, they have a chance. But after what I've seen the last few nights, the money's on the Giants.

Its going to be a snoozer even if its well played and gets to 6 or 7 games. I guess I'll root for the Tigers but hope the city doesn't burn itself down if they win. Then again, it couldn't do it any harm....

1990 called, they want their dated reference back.

FYI - Detroit sports teams have won 5 championships since the car burning incident, the city survived each time.

Which team will win the World Series? - Sportsnation - ESPN

America wants the Giants to lose

I'm a Dodger fan, so what do you think I'm thinking right now.

Apparently you have developed the idea that you speak for the entire nation.

Nah, just sort of bitter of how our season started off great then turned south, then getting eliminated by the Giants. What a soft ending

As for the ESPN poll, I think a lot of it is driven by the fact that Verlander, Prince Fielder, and Miguel Cabrera are all on the same team. Realistically though, Verlander can't pitch every game and Fielder has not made some really big decisive impact on the playoffs.

My heart says Tigers in 6, but my brain says Giants in 6 or 7

None of the Above. It should have been the Reds Vs. the Yankees

- The Giants got lucky because of last minute injuries sustained by the Red
- The Tigers got lucky because they had weak playoff opponents. They struggled during much of the regular season and they're only in the playoffs because the AL Division is rather weak.

Of the two, I'd say the Giants are the lesser of the two evils though.
