The first ever baseball game that was played in November was the Oct 31st game between the D backs and Yanks on Oct 31st, 2001. The game went past midnight and Jeter ended it with a HR in the 10th inning on Nov 1st.

Happy November everyone!

You wish to celebrate an event made necessary as a consequence of the 9/11 attacks?

Yup, he totally got that name for his stats. It had nothing to do with an emotional moment in an emotional time in an emotional place.

I don't know about celebrate, but I remember the sporting events in the months following 9/11 being really inspiring and awesome (in the literal sense of the word). The 2001 WS and the NFL games the week after the cancelation especially stick out to me.

Worth remembering imo

Was Gonzalez' hit not emotional? He looks pretty happy to me.

Happiness is an emotion isn't it?
