Major League was great...until the Indians started winning

/bitter Reds fan trying to stoke the flames of a dead Cleveland-Cincinnati city rivalry

Bull Durham is quite good and probably my favorite baseball movie. The interplay between Nuke and Crash is great. Major League is also pretty funny, but not quite as classic as Bull Durham.

Field of Dreams is a little overdone, but still enjoyable for a nostalgic sugar-coated movie.

For kids, the Bad News Bears and the Sandlot are both great.

My favorite is actually a sad movie, but I still watch it whenever it comes on tv.

Bang The Drum Slowly

For Love of the Game.....

Kevin Costner did a good job with that one.

The only disappointment:

No Tiger Stadium footage.

I was going to name "Cobb" but not sure if it qualified as a "baseball movie". TLJ's best performance to date.

Close enough that it deserves to be mentioned.

Besides, any movie that gives the viewer a chance to see Jimmy Buffett getting his ass kicked (while knowing that he's not really getting hurt) deserves mention and praise.

Loved Fever Pitch! Mild-mannered ordinary guy turns into obsessed Red Sox fan when the season starts. I like that it was filmed at Fenway Park, using real fans and players. When I actually got to go to a game there, I looked for all the things that were in the movie -- the guy on stilts, the turnstiles in the street to admit you to the game, singing "Sweet Caroline". Lots of fun.

Haven't seen the reviews for 42 yet, but it looks good.
