I don't understand why the Mets would have Mariana Rivera throw out the first pitch. The Yankees would NEVER have a Met throw out the first pitch. I just don't understand the Mets.

Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch is, typically, a ceremonial way to honor someone. I suppose the Mets were honoring Rivera.

Then they went and beat him out on the field.

Don't know that it could have panned out any better for them.

Sandy was just on WFAN. He said that Wheeler will be up here for June 18th against the Braves unless the game gets rained out. He also said Rafael Montero could skip Triple A and go right to the big leagues . He also mentioned about possibly promoting Jack Leathstitch and Cesar Puello. I like how Sandy is thinking.

The record may be bad in 2013, but Harvey, Wheeler, Lagares, Young and of course Wright as the offensive core..I like 2014 and beyond.
