Mariners 2 @ Jays 8

Strong pitching from Aaron Sanchez, aided and abetted by long balls from EE and Ryan Goins allowed the Jays to prevent a series sweep.

Jose Reyes is scheduled to come off the DL tonight against the White Sox. With the pitching showing signs of turning it around, it'll be nice to get some position players back where they belong.

White Sox 0 @ Jays 6

Donaldson and Smoak homered while Drew Hutchison went all the way, allowing only 4 singles.

Nice to see a few well-pitched games in a row. A guy could get used to it....

White Sox 9 @ Jays 10

Josh Donaldson hit his 2nd home run of the game, a 3-run shot in the 9th, to walk off the Sox. Steve Delabar got the win in relief. Jose Bautista went 3-4 with five RBIs.

W. Sox 5 @ Jays 3 (10)

Adam LaRoche singled in the winning run in the 10th, salvaging the last game of the series for Chicago.

Jays are off today and open a 3-gamer on Friday in Minnesota.

Jays 6 @ Twins 4

Mark Buehrle gave up 4 runs in the 1st then slammed the door shut for the next 8 in a terrific performance. Ex-Twin Chris Colabello hit a 2-run, 9th inning homer to cap the Jays comeback. Josh Donaldson whacked his 4th dinger in as many games, a 3-run shot in the 5th.

Well-pitched game by both sides. Brian Dozier tripled in the winning run in the 7th.

Jays 5 @ Twins 6

Another 1-run loss, making the Jays something like 3-16 in that department. Torii Hunter hit a go-ahead double in the 7th for the series win. The Jays helped by playing some butcher ball, especially Colabello in left field. The guy can hit but he's obviously playing out of position and does not belong in the outfield.

Another tough series ahead starting tonight in Washington.

Jays 0 @ Nats 2 (1st)
Jays 7 @ Nats 3

In the first game, Jordan Zimmerman out-dueled R. A. Dickey to hand the Jays their first shutout this year. Jays were the last team to be shut out this season.

In the 2nd, Jays CF Kevin Pillar had himself a day - whacking two dingers off the usually-stingy Max Scherzer - including a 3-run shot to put the Jays ahead.

If Mark Buehrle can continue his nice recent run, the Jays may sneak back home even on this 6-game trip.

Of note: Jose Bautista played RF for the first time since April 21st and Dioner Navarro came off the DL. To make room, Josh Thole was optioned to Buffalo.

Jays 8 @ Nats 0

Mark Buehrle spun a complete game masterpiece and MLB's best offense did the rest.

What was shaping up as a 1-5, or 2-4 road trip ended with a satisfactory split.

Day off today and then they return home to face the 3rd division-leading opponent in a row - the Astros. Jays owe them some payback from their recent disaster in Texas.
