Jays 2 @ White Sox 4

A Jose Reyes error led to 3 unearned runs and cost the Jays and Mark Buehrle a hard-earned W.

This one stings.

Jays 2 @ W. Sox 1

Felix Doubront shone in his first start for the Jays, going 7 and allowing only a single run. The bullpen got it done the rest of the way and Josh Donaldson's 21st dinger proved to be the difference.

Jose Quintana pitched extremely well for the Sox but continued to suffer from lack of run support. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a bluebird uniform. Sox need runs and Jays have boppers. Sox have pitching and Jays need a starter....

Whaddaya' think AA?

Jays 6 @ W. Sox 7 (11)

Adam Eaton hit a walk-off dinger off closer Roberto Osuna.

Blah.

Jays 0 @ W. Sox 2

Too much Samardzija.

Another tough L for Dickey and the team.

Jays 0 @ KC 3

Remember when the Jays were leading the world with their powerful offense?

Me neither.

Jays 6 @ Royals 2

Mark Buehrle continued his hot stretch and stopped the Jays' most recent skid. Beuhrle went 7 strong, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. In his last 9 starts, he is 5-1 with a 1.88 ERA -- with a fastball that wouldn't break a window.

Edwin Encarnacion hit a 2-run homer and Danny Valencia capped things with a 3-run bomb in the 9th.

This is the second straight year they've fallen flat on their face the last 3+ weeks heading into the break. Buehrle pitched a gem yesterday, kept them in the game which gave them a chance to win, I think it's pretty imperative that they win today: not only to gain some steam, but to win a series from the best team in the AL (on the road as well) AND to go into the second half with a record above .500.

No way to recap such a ridiculous game in a few sentences.

You can read about it, if you want.

GM Anthopolous' hands are tied at the moment. He's ready, willing and eager to trade for an arm(s) but can't find a dance partner. Too many teams - especially in the East - are in contention. Everybody is looking to add.

Might not see any real action until a couple days before the deadline.

I like Estrada, but geez this team needs a starting pitcher.....badly! I understand not wanting to sell the farm for a Price, Samardjiza, or even Cueto (who I think will get lit up like the Rockefeller Christmas Tree pitching in the AL East), but a guy like Mike Leake shouldn't cost a whole lot, and he'd be an instant upgrade. Ian Kennedy of SD probably wouldn't cost a whole lot either, and does have expierence pitching in the AL East. Remember, he came up with the Yankees, and was part of that 3 way trade in 09 or 10 that brought Curtis Granderson from Detroit to the Yankees. I believe Max Scherzer also got dealt in that same deal, going from Arizona to Detroit. He (Scherzer) definitely started in Arizona, I just don't remember what trade (or year) he went to Detroit.

Jays trade for Colorado's Troy Tulowitski. Not sure I like this deal unless AA has a third team involved. They didn't need any more offense (this isn't PS4 AA!), and they gave up Castro and Hoffman, two pieces that AA could've used to send to Cincinnati for Johnny Cueto, or to Philly for Cole Hamels. Hopefully, he's got the Padres on line 2, work out a trade to get some of their pitching; maybe send Tulowitski there for Craig Kimbrel and Tyson Ross, actually fill an area of need for the team. If this is the only thing they do, I see another playoffless season with a lot of 13-12 and 12-11 losses
