Default 4-5

Yankees 2 @ Jays 7

J. A. Happ went six, allowing only one run and the Jays bats started to wake up some, sparked by a pair of doubles from 2B Ryan Goins and LF Michael Saunders.

Michael Pineda started for the Yanks and took the loss, although he pitched quite well, allowing three runs (2 earned) in his 6 innings. Jays got to Ivan Nova in the 8th, batting around and scoring four.

Jays will try to win the series tonight with Marcus Stroman vs Nathan Eovaldi.

Yankees 2 @ Jays 4

Toronto takes the rubber game of the series thanks to Marcus Stroman's heavy sinker and dingers by Donaldson and Tulowitzki.

Stroman went 8 and induced 17 ground ball outs from Yankee hitters. Roberto Osuna picked up his 4th save.

To Beantown tonight for four games, hopefully for a bit of payback after the Sox whupped us at home.

EE 3 @ BoSox 5

Rick Porcello was as sharp as I've ever seen him as the Jays fell to the Sox in the opener. He only allowed 2 hits - home runs by Edwin Encarnacion. In fact, EE got the only other hit in the game for the Jays as well.

Jays 2 @ Bosox 4

David Price bested Marco Estrada as many of the Jays bats remained cold. Check out these averages:

Pillar: .188

Tulowitzi: .119

Martin: .091

Colabello: .065

Ouch.

Jays 5 @ Bosox 3

Toronto looked more like itself in this one, banging out 14 hits. Aaron Sanchez out-dueled Steven Wright but both starters were very good.

Jays will try to even the four-gamer this MORNING at 11:00 in Boston's annual Patriot Day game.

Jays 4 @ Red Sox 3

A fine pitching duel between starters Clay Buchholz and J. A. Happ turned into a battle of the back-end bullpens. Jays scored 4 in the 8th against Uehara and closer Craig Kimbrel, then survived a shaky save by Drew Storen, who gave up 2 before striking out Big Papi to end the game.

Jays are in Baltimore tonight for the first of three.

Jays 4 @ Orioles 3

Toronto delivered the O's first loss at home this season while stretching their modest win streak to 3. Marcus Stroman (3-0) gave up three runs over seven innings, including dingers to Machado and Wieters. Mike Wright took the loss for Baltimore.

R. A. Dickey takes the mound tonight against Ubaldo Jimenez.

It's too bad they can't clone Stroman and have him fill in for Dickey. Luckily the bats seem to be picking up and they'll probably need a lot of runs with Dickey.

Jays 3 @ O's 4 (10)

A passed ball provided a weird end to a terrific ball game.

Recap here.

Marco Estrada and Chris Tillman take the hill in the rubber game tonight.
