Jays 8 @ Yankees 4

Russ Martin hit his first two dingers of the year and Michael Saunders hit his 9th in support of Marco Estrada (2-2) who went seven for the win.

When Martin and Saunders went deep in the 7th, it was the first time two Canadian teammates homered in the same inning.

Jays welcomed back 2B Devon Travis from his rehab stint. It was his big league game since last July.

Toronto will try to win the rubber this afternoon when J.A. Happ faces off against C.C. Sabathia.

Jays 3 @ Yankees 1

J.A. Happ (6-2) bested CC Sabathia (3-3) in a fine pitchers' duel. Each pitcher went 7. Happ only allowed the one run while both of Sabathia's were unearned. Jays scratched out another against Aroldis Chapman in the 9th.

Toronto ended its 7-game trip 5-2 and now head home for 3 against the Red Sox, starting tonight.

Red Sox 5 @ Jays 7

He's baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Josh Donaldson hit two dingers and drove in five and admits for the first time this season he's "starting to feel right."

Good news for Jays fans. Not so good for the rest of the league if he continues to heat up.

Joe Biagini (2-1) got the win in relief. Koji Uehara (2-2) took the loss.

Red Sox 9 @ Jays 10

I was at a wedding and missed this one - sadly. By all accounts it was a wild n' woolly one.

Now, all we need for a sweep is to beat David Price this afternoon.

Red Sox 5 @ Jays 3 (11)

Dustin Pedroia hit an 11th inning RBI double to salvage the last of the 3-game series and end Toronto's modest 4-game win streak.

Yankees in town for 3 starting tonight.

Yankees 2 @ Jays 4

Marco Estrada (3-2) pitched 8 strong and Ryan Goins hit a home run as the Jays nipped the Yankees to win their 5th in their last 6 games.

Yankees 1 @ Jays 4

Rule 5 pick-up Joe Biagini won his third game with an inning of relief and Roberto Osuna notched his 12th save as the Jays beat the Yankees for the 12th time in 16 meetings.

Kevin Pillar and Darwin Barney each made great catches in the field and delivered timely hits at the plate.

Jays made a deal with the Braves, picking up 39-year-old reliever Jason Grillis for minor leaguer Sean Ratcliffe.

Toronto has quietly won 9 of their past 12 and will try to hand Masahiro Tanaka his first loss of the season and sweep the series tonight. Aaron Sanchez takes the hill for the Jays.

Yankees 0 @ Jays 7

Aaron Sanchez (5-1) won his 4th straight decision and the Jays swept the Yanks for the first time in 16 years.

The team is simply playing better all-round. Although still not crushing balls like last year, they're grinding out at-bats and manufacturing runs. They're no longer striking out at a record pace. The defense has been good. The bullpen is slowly rounding into form and the starters - thank the baseball gods - have been good all year.

Off day today and then on to Beantown for 3 more with the Sox.

Jays 5 @ BoSox 2

R.A. Dickey finally got a little run support as the Jays continued their winning ways in Beantown, besting David Price.

Encarnacion with his 11th and Devon Travis with his 1st, left the yard for Toronto. Xander Bogaerts saw his 26-game hitting streak came to an end.

Jays will try to keep it going this afternoon when Stroman takes the hill against Steven Wright.

Jays 4 @ Bosox 6

Marcus Stroman was bested by Steven Wright and David Ortiz added a couple of RBIs to his league-leading total as Boston snapped a 3-game losing streak.

Three of Stroman's past four starts have not been good. He's given up 6 runs in one and 7 in the other two.

Marco Estrada will go in the rubber game this afternoon against Eduardo Rodriguez.
