Jays 10 @ D-backs 4

Marcus Stroman (8-4) went 8 strong and Donaldson and Encarnacion each hit 2-run dingers in support as the Jays finish the 5-game trip at 3-2.

Good news on the Jose Bautista front: he's headed to Buffalo for the weekend's games and if all goes well, he expects to be back with Jays on Monday.

Off day today before beginning a 9-game homestand against Seattle on Friday.

Mariners 2 @ Jays 1

Marco Estrada was good in his return from the DL but James Paxton was great.

That's about it.

Mariners 14 @ Jays 5

Ow.

Ugly.

Nelson Cruz had two dingers and 7 RBIs as Seattle beat up on their hosts. Hisashi Iwakuma was on his game, allowing only a couple of runs in 6 innings. RA Dickey was gone by the 4th, having allowed 6 runs. Jesse Chavez came in to add some gas to the fire, allowing 5 more. Drew Storen didn't think 11 runs was enough for the Ms, so he gave up 3 more.

Jays will try to salvage one game of the series this afternoon when J.A. Happ takes the hill.

Mariners 0 @ Jays 2

Jays avoided a sweep when J. A. Happ and three relievers combined on a one-hitter. The win was Happ's 13th, a personal season high.

Edwin did what Edwin does - banged his 27th dinger and MLB-leading 87th RBI.

Jays designated RP Drew Storen for assignment and expect to have Jose Bautista in the lineup tonight when the Padres come to town for three.

Padres 2 @ Jays 4

Aaron Sanchez (11-1) won his 10th straight decision and was dominant once again, throwing 7 shutout innings. Kevin Pillar aided the cause with 3 hits while Jose Bautista went 1-3 with a walk in his return from the DL.

Junior Lake was DFA'd to make room for Bautista on the roster. Marcus Stroman takes the hill tonight for the second game in the series.

Padres 6 @ Jays 7 (12)

Devon Travis scored on a wild pitch to cap a 3-run, 12th inning rally as the Jays edged the Padres in a nailbiter.

Too damn hot to type much so here's a full recap for those who care.

Jays will try for the sweep this afternoon when R.A. Dickey takes the hill.

Padres 8 @ Jays 4

San Diego benefited from 3 dingers and some good pitching from Rule 5 pickup Luis Perdomo. Padres set a team record with their 25th consecutive game hitting a home run. They're only 2 behind the MLB record of 27, held by Texas and set in 2002.

R. A. Dickey took the loss, his 3rd consecutive.

Jays are off today and host the Orioles for 3 starting on Friday.

O's 5 @ Jays 6

Marco Estrada was rusty and it showed, falling behind 2-0 in the 1st. But three solo shots in the bottom of the inning by Bautista, Encarnacion and Tulowitzki helped right the ship as the Jays take the first of three against the division-leading Orioles.

The win shaved the O's lead to 1/2 game, so the Jays have a chance to reverse that this afternoon when JA Happ takes the hill against Yovani Gallardo.

O's 1 @ Jays 9

J. A. Happ was dominant, going 7 and giving up only 1 run and 3 hits as the Jays clobbered the O's and slipped a half-game ahead of them to lead the AL East.

Keven Pillar had two doubles and drove in 4.

Baltimore has now lost 5 straight. The Jays will try to make it 6 as they go for the sweep this afternoon in what should be a terrific mound match-up: Aaron Sanchez (11-1) vs Chris Tillman (14-3).

O's 6 @ Jays 2 (12)

Baltimore broke open a tight pitchers' duel with 4 runs in the 12th to take the last game of the series and regain the lead in the AL East.

Of note: Troy Tulowitzki was hit by a pitch and broke his right thumb. They're waiting for the swelling to go down before deciding if a stint on the DL is in the cards.

Marcus Stroman takes the hill tonight in Houston as the Jays open a 4-gamer.
