Jays 2 @ Indians 3

Toronto closer Roberto Osuna gave up two 9th-inning home runs, the 2nd an inside-the-park jobbie, as Cleveland edged the Jays in game one.

Tough game to lose. Hopefully they'll bounce back this evening.

Jays 6 @ Indians 5

Didn't see the game.

Here's a recap if interested.

Jays 2 @ Indians 3

Another gut-wrenching loss. This time, the Jays gave up a 2-run, 8th inning bomb to Jose Ramirez.

As Indians' manager Terry Francona said after the game: "We won 2 out of 3 games and only had the lead for about 10 minutes."

Jays have today off to lick their wounds before starting a 3-gamer at home against the Angels.

I think it was less than that. You know Cleveland batted only once all series with the lead?? Yup, the guy that batted after Jose Ramirez that made the final out of the 8th inning yesterday was the only Indian all series that stepped in the batters box with the team leading in the game. The only lead in the game Friday was when Nayquin crossed home plate on the inside-the parker, never lead on Saturday, and had been trailing up until that 2 out, 2 run homer. Frustrating series to lose 2 of 3 when you either lead or tie for 25 of the 27 innings of the series but that's the sport.

Angels 2 @ Jays 7

R.A. Dickey got something he hasn't seen in a while - run support - and it helped him cruise through 6 2/3 innings and notch his 9th win. In his previous five starts, his team only managed a total of 8 runs.

Russell Martin continued his hot streak with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Michael Saunders launched his 21st dinger and first in seemingly a month.

Kevin Pillar came off the DL and the Jays expect Bautista back for Thursday.

Angels 8 @ Jays 2

Albert Pujols moved into sole possession of 10th place on baseball's all-time list by hitting his 584th home run and Matt Shoemaker pitched six shutout innings as Los Angeles snapped an 11-game road losing streak. He and Mike Trout went back-to-back in the first inning, each with their 24th of the season.

Marco Estrada allowed 6 runs for the first time this year and has been shaky his last three starts.

JA Happ will try to win the rubber game tonight when he takes the hill against Jared Weaver.

Angels 6 @ Jays 3

Too much Trout and Pujols this series. Combined, they went 13/24 with 9 RBIs while the Jays bats remained quiet.

No way they'll be taking Minny lightly when they come in for 3 on Friday.

Twins 8 @ Jays 15

For one of the few times this season, Toronto had their clobbering cleats on, banging four dingers and giving Francisco Lariano (7-12) his first win as a Jay.

Justin Smoak broke out of an 0 for 29 with RISP to club a 3-run dinger and added two more RBIs later. Russell Martin also went deep and drove in 5. Darwin Barney, with his 4th and Josh Donaldson with his 30th also left the yard.

It was the 8th straight loss for the Twins. Marcus Stroman will try to extend that when he goes against Ervin Santana this afternoon.

Twins 7 @ Jays 8

Toronto overcame a 5-run deficit to hand Minnesota its 9th straight loss. Melvin Upton circled the bases when his 8th-inning triple was booted by RF Max Kepler.

Visitors here so a short report.

Edwin hit 3 home runs in a game 1 year ago today, and yesterday Josh Donaldson did it himself. Fortunately, the Twins pitching staff and defence is awful as it made up for some suspect pitching by the Jays starters.

Crucial stretch now going to face Baltimore, Yankees and Rays on the road.
