Split the 2 games in Atlanta, and than lost 3 of 4 in Boston to end the first half. 6 game home stand coming up here out of the break first with the now Manny Machado less Orioles starting on Friday and than the Twins, and following a Thursday off day they'll head to the Windy City for 3 games with the White Sox next weekend.

Swept the O's coming out of the break, got swept by the Twins, and won 2 of 3 in Chicago. Road trip continues to finish up against the remaining AL West opponents, 3 games in Oakland against the A's starting Monday, and than concluding in Seattle with 4 games against the Mariners starting on Thursday evening.

Got swept in Oakland by the red hot on fire A’s who believe it or not actually have the 4th best record in baseball right now and than won 3 of 4 at Rogers Centre West.....ooops Safeco Field. And for Dipoto and the Mariners players whining about being the road team in your own ballpark grow up. It’s a premium ticket in Seattle now, the hotels, restaurants, and business love it because they can jack up prices for the weekend, the team can jack up the ticket price for the games and guess what M’s fans; if you don’t want a Blue Jay invasion, how about you buy the tickets yourself next year??

Monday is a day off to travel back from Seattle, Red Sox pay their last visit to Rogers Centre beginning on Tuesday, then the Rays come in for the weekend which is surprisingly Tampa’s first visit north of the border this year. Starting with the Red Sox on Tuesday, 4 of their final 16 series are against the Rays with 3 of the 4 at Rogers Centre.

Lost 2 of 3 to the Red Sox, coincidentally the one game in the series that the Jays won Mookie Betts reached base 5 times and hit for the cycle. Glad to the "junior" Jays finish the rest of the season: Ryan Borucki has looked OK, Monday will see the major league debut of Sean Reid-Foley and future catcher Danny Jansen was called up from Buffalo (I wonder if Jansen will be the catcher since they were Bisons teammates??), and if Vladdy Jr keeps pounding homers in Buffalo we'll probably see him sometime before the end of the season.

4 in KC to begin the week, and than the second visit of the year to the Bronx to end the week. You may remember the first visit to the Bronx way back in April the Jays were actually in 2nd place right on the heels of Boston I think only 2 or 3 back going in, and the Yankees were .500. Yankees preceded to win that series. starting a stretch where they went a ridiculous 17-1 or 18-1, and spent the next 3 months going toe-to-toe with the Red Sox before Boston KO'd them from the division last week, that series in the Bronx for all intents and purposes KO'd the Jays this season as their next 14 series (including a makeup double header) they went only 2-10-2. Now the junior Jays have a chance to turn the tables as the Yankees suddenly find themselves in a battle for the Wildcard with the surging A's and hard-charging Mariners, so a chance to play spoiler.

Split 2 with KC and than got swept in New York. By the way shout out to the MLB scheduling department. A night game in KC on Thursday night (with a 2.5 hour rain delay on top of that) and than a night game in New York the next day. Really?? With the delay, I don't even think the Jays landed in New York until about 4:30 or 5 AM.

They've got 3 with Baltimore at home starting Monday, and following a Thursday off, they'll play the final interleague series of the year against the Phillies at home.

5-1 week which included a sweep of the woebegone Orioles and than won 2 of 3 against the NL playoff hopefuls Philadelphia Phillies. 6 games on the road this week, 3 in Baltimore Monday-Wednesday and following a Thursday off day, they play their final interleague series of the year with 3 games in Miami against the Marlins.

Got swept in Baltimore by the hapless Orioles, but rebounded and won 2 of 3 in Miami courtesy of a 5 run 9th inning in game 1 on Friday highlighted by a Justin Smoak grand slam. And in case you've been living under a rock for this week, the Jays made it official what's been unofficial for some time now, especially lately when the relationship between Josh Donaldson & the front office deteriorated, they've shipped Donaldson off to Cleveland, which coincidentally comes to the Rogers Centre at the end of the week, but if I had to guess, I don't think Donaldson will be there as the Indians will proceed with caution on him as this is strictly a move for the playoffs, and with them owning a 14 game lead in what is arguable baseball's worst division (the 2nd place team is 10 games under .500) its not like Cleveland has to, or really wants to rush him back, even though Donaldson will probably want to get him. I think the closest he comes to playing this weekend is pinch-hitting in the 9th on Sunday, just so he can get a standing ovation from the crowd. Assuming he's still with the team and doesn't go to a minor league team for a playoff (if the Indians even have a minor league team in the playoffs), I'd expect Terry Francona to do just that. Likely won't start, but will likely get an at bat.....actually even better would be starting him, have him come up to bat in the first, have him take that AB, and than replace him for defense in the bottom half. We will see. Rays start the week with 3 at home, before the Indians come in for 4 for the weekend.

Lost 2 of 3 against the Rays, and split the 4 with Cleveland. Too bad the Indians placed Donaldson on the DL, so he wasn't active for this series. Now let's hope he signs with one of the 14 other AL teams, or the Giants, Padres, D'Backs, or Braves, the 4 NL teams that come to the Rogers Centre in 2019 so the fans can give him the ovation and recognition Donaldson deserves for his 4 years and how he gave the franchise it's first playoff appearance in 22 years, and actually put the Leafs on the backburner at least for a 2 weeks in October. of course Donaldson could always come back here, but I know that isn't happening with this ownership group. The final* road trip of the season starts in Boston after a Monday off day in Beantown as the final series of the year against the Red Sox starts on Tuesday, than they'll travel down 95 (or even better take Amtrak!) to New York for the final series of the year against the Yankees which starts Friday night.
*And this is the final multi-city road trip, the final 3 games of the year are in Tampa Bay, but since that is by itself, I'm not including that as a road trip.

The Blue Jays have been mathematically eliminated. A far cry from two or three years ago.
