Who among us is the greatest baseball oracle? Who can best predict what will take place in 2014?

To enter, copy and paste the questions and provide three answers, A,B & C to each of the below questions. Your A answer is worth 5 points, your B answer is worth 3 points and your C answer will be worth 1 point, provided your prediction materializes. The questions are divided into two sections with the first containing questions which apply to the first half (pre All Star break) of the season, and the second section applying to the whole season. Points are double in value (A=10, B=6 C=2) for the answers in the second part.

The winner is the one with the highest point total. Once your entry is posted and your ability to edit it ends, that is your official entry, no alterations. There is no actual prize, don't be looking for some low rent celebrity has been to show up at your front door with a camera crew and an oversized check. The reward shall be one of ego inflation only....unless of course the City-Data folks are so pleased by the competition that they step in and insist on providing some monetary prize.

Deadline for entries is 5 pm Pacific time, March 30th, the day before the regular season opens. The two Diamondbacks/Dodgers games played in Australia on March 22nd and 23rd, do not count for Part Two of this competition.

Part One...Pre All Star Break..provide three answers marked A, B or C
At The All Star Break...
1) Will be leading the AL in home runs
2) Will be leading the NL in home runs
3) AL pitcher with most wins
4) NL pitcher with most wins
5) Pitcher leading all MLB in walks issued
6) Club that will be leading the AL in runs scored
7) Club that will be leading the NL in runs scored
8) MLB club with fewest wins
9) MLB club with most stolen bases
10) Player leading MLB in batting average (batting title qualified only)

Part Two...Applies To Entire Season. Provide three answers, A, B & C to each of the below questions.

11) Batter who hits for the cycle
12) Batter who hits three or more home runs in one game
13) Pitcher who throws no hitter
14) Pitcher who strikes out 16 or more hitters in one game
15) Player who gets suspended for any reason
16) Player who is traded during season
17) Player with hitting streak of 20 or more games
18) Batter who hits an inside the park home run
19) Manager fired during season
20) AL pitcher who hits a home run in inter league play

I will post standings for the competition from time to time, but when one of your selections performs one of the predicted tasks, it is up to you to bring it to the attention of the board so it does not get overlooked.

Good luck

Cyborg13 lost out on six points and I lost three when David Ortiz broke up Yu Darvish's no hitter with two outs in the ninth last night.

Other than that, none of us have come close to any category two points so far. There has been one 20 plus game hitting streak, but none of us predicted that it would be Nolan Arenado who put it together. (It ended yesterday after 28 games.)

Total (if it holds)..6 points.

Grandstander
Has Wainwright (5 points) leading NL in wins.
Has Colorado (5 points) leading NL in runs scored.
Has Cubs (3 points) for fewest club wins.
Total..13 points

Cyborg13
Has Wainwright (5 points) leading NL in wins.
Has A's ( 1 point) leading AL in runs scored.
Has Cubs (3 points) for fewest wins.
Total..9 points

7express

If I have overlooked anything, please bring it to my attention

We had a three home run game by a player, but for some reason, none of us anticipated that it would be Lonnie Chisenhall of the Indians doing it.

Brandon Barnes of the Rockies had an Inside the Park Home Run the other day against Arizona. None of us picked him though.

Tampa Bay has been staging a huge rally to seize the worst record in MLB from the Cubs.

Tampa Bay? Worst record in baseball? Whoda thunk it?
